The Incoming Problem

Data provided by the Indiana Department of Education

High school teachers already have the problem of trying to re-teach their students the social skills and content they lost out on during quarantine. To make things worse, the incoming batch of Indiana high school students are suffering significant drops in their math, english, science, and social studies skills. This means students and teachers will have to work together even harder to develop and get the scores back to where they need to be. The term "learning loss" has been used to describe this phenomenon, and the loss of social skills certainly isn't going to help students in their efforts to gain back lost learning.
